April 8, 2006

Yesterday we had our 4th trip to the Pediatrician. Anna's diaper rash got completely out of control quickly eventhough we were treating it with neosporin and Boudreaux's butt paste like the previous MD recommended....well now we have started Operation Red Rump. Just when I conquered the breastfeeding challenge- now on to diaper rash- she started with a little red spot in the hospital- we used A&D ointment there- then we tried Desitin Creamy, then regular Desitin, then on the 3rd visit to the MD for a weight check, we started the neosporin and butt paste- so now, 3 weeks of diaper rash later, we are on 4 different treatments- Keflex, Nystatin, Mylanta (on the rump) followed by A&D, and Lanolin....all at different diaper changes, of course (except for the Keflex- that's 2x a day by mouth). We're also using a hairdryer to dry off her rump during diaper changes, and no more convenient wipes- just warm water and some strong Scottie tissues! Ah....this keeps life even more interesting! I hope the rash is gone by the time we go to Bald Head for Easter- I don't want to have to travel with all these things in her diaper bag! But if we do, we do....
