Mother's Day
Brynn was baptized at the 11 o'clock service this morning, and we enjoyed a nice lunch at our house afterwards. Grandma, Lori, Gigi, Mimi, and Pops were there to celebrate with us, and everything went well. Unfortunately we forgot our camera at the church, so we're hoping that Lori and Grandma got some good pictures! Anna had fun playing with the baby dolls in the church nursery during the service, and they said she read a lot of books. When I went to pick her up, she was rocking a baby doll in a glider. Brynn spent some time after her baptism in the infant nursery, where she sat on a soft mat and got loved on by another baby. She looked like she was enjoying the company when I picked her up.
Mother's day afternoon was spent relaxing at home. Anna was so excited about the day that she wasn't about to go down for a nap without a good fight. She finally fell asleep when I put her in the daybed and took a nap with her. I have to say that I enjoyed our little nap together. It was a sweet mother's day moment, when she started singing a lullaby that I sing to her (that has been passed down for generations). She changed some names, which I found very fitting for the day.
"Bye bye baby bunting, Mimi's gone a hunting, gone to get a rabbit's skin to wrap my little Mommy in" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I heard her sweet soft voice singing this to me (as I pretended to be asleep). I am so blessed to have such a sweet little girl!
I hope all the Moms out there were able to enjoy a lovely mother's day!
